The possessive pronoun 

The possessive pronoun in Italian have the same form as the possessive adjectives.

his/her	Il suo	I suoi	La sua	Le sue

your ( formal plural )	Il Loro	I Loro	La Loro	Le Loro

- The possessive pronoun have the same gender and number with the object connected to . 

Ex.

Il mio cane è bianco , il vostro marrone.      —>     ( my dos is white , yours is brown ) 

- Nouns of family members use the article only when replaced by a possessive pronoun : 

Ex.

Il mio papà e il tuo sono amici      —>        ( my dad and your are friends )

• Possessive pronouns in Italian are use also for comparative reasons 

Ex.

Il mio cane è più calmo del suo.    —>   ( my dog is more calm than his/her ).
